I began this project, in December 2019, with the idea of sharing bits of wisdom gleaned in walking with Jesus through most of these past 60 years. I hoped my readers would find my words to be insightful, amusing at times and possibly a gentle invitation to look to their own experiences to see God’s fingerprints.

Then, well…2020.

Rather than a walk down memory lane, there is plenty in the present moment that stirs my soul to write. I have been challenged to look deeper into my own theology, to face my responsibilities as a representative of Christ and as a human on this planet.  I have been encouraged to dig deeper into the concepts of faith, hope and love (even applying them toward myself, wonder of all wonders!)  Conflicts I have skirted for years — depression, apathy, racism — can no longer be avoided.  My conversations with Jesus are occasionally tinged with the prophetic.  His encouragement to use my voice is complemented with a conviction that to remain silent at this point in history is to be complicit with an enemy who uses divisiveness and fear to drown out God’s call to love.

Anyone who has met me knows I am not a confrontational person.  I enjoy conversation, not controversy.   If you have the time, I’d encourage you to read my posts chronologically, just to get a sense of how I arrived at where I am now.  You don’t have to agree with my conclusions.  In fact, if you disagree, I’d love to know how you arrived at where you are.  You are welcome to comment respectfully on the blog posts,. If you’d prefer to have the conversations privately, please send me an email. My intention is to learn from each other.

God bless your reading.  It is my prayer that whatever is from Jesus will stand, and whatever isn’t will not be a hindrance to you.

Thanks for your time.
