The Studio @ Toyland, R.I.P.

Out with the old ...

Once upon a time, I convinced Linda (my better half) to dedicate half of our basement to use as a "music area". First it was just a place to sit with my bass and practice, then it became a place for a band to practice, and then it sort of grew into a "project studio."

As a studio, the basement fulfilled a beautiful and wonderful purpose, providing a place for people to come and see where their music can take them. Eventually the restrictions of recording in a basement began to interfere with the progress of the studio, and so began the quest for a new home.

Here are some projects that have been done in the studio, go check them out, buy the albums, support the artists!

Currently the studio is still in the basement, in sort of a semi-closed state, finishing up projects and "clearing the decks."

In with the new ...

After much prayer, Linda and I have decided that the studio should live on, and so we are in the process of designing and building a small studio in downtown Mountain View. In the meantime, a temporary home for the studio is being prepared for habitation. Sometime in the Summer of 2001, the studio will be up and running again in the temporary home. Sometime in early 2003 the studio should be up and running in it's final new home.

This is not a money making venture, rather this is an investment in music. Our experience has been that music is an incredibly powerful way of speaking the truth. We want to encourage and support local musicians, providing them access to great recording facilities. If Jesus is calling them to make music, then we want to be a part of helping them grow as musicians.
